Arjan serves on the Advisory Council for the Stanford University Clayman Institute for Gender Research and its Center for the Advancement of Women’s Leadership. The Clayman Institute creates knowledge and seeks to implement change to promote gender equality. Lives in Transition – For People in Career Transition
Arjan is the co-founder of Lives in Transition, a highly successful career networking and support group in the New York metropolitan area, established in response to the economic downturn in May, 2009. The organization, initially scheduled to operate for a few months, was active for over three years and more than 1,000 people benefited from the Lives in Transition sessions and workshops focused on career assessment and career strategies.
CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children in Foster Care
CASA is a national organization with a mission to move foster children out of foster care and into stable, permanent homes where they can thrive. Arjan served for eleven years as a Board Member on the New York Chapter, which works in close co-operation with New York City judges, who assign some of the most difficult foster care cases to CASA.
